Are we keeping strict turn order with introducing new tenets? I suppose it would avoid confusion...
-- TrevisMartin - 05 Oct 2006 - 01:18
I think it's scene bidding time again, so here's mine for the second scene

Since Mark seems to be missing I've revealed the bids. John and Dave are tied. According to my rule book, that would mean that the bidder closest to the left (clockwise) of the last scene framer would the be the winner. Since turn order in Uni normally goes clockwise and we ar going alphabetical by first name, I would interpret that as the first bidder, in order, who is after Mark in the cycle will frame the scene. Which makes the Dave the winner.
If no one has any objections to that interpretation, the go for it Dave!

Go Dave!
You know, I though I was bidding kinda low, because I didn't really know where I wanted the scene to go. But everyone bid kinda low, not just me, which makes me a little worried. Are people interested in this scene? It's ironic that the person that started it off hasn't been back. If people aren't feeling very invested, perhaps we should jump the time forward a little, maybe change the direction some? What do y'all think?

No problems, I'll start a new scene. One thing which I think threw me with this game is that few of the tenets seemed to dictate game play direction. In most of the other games I've played we had tenets like 'Will play like a western' or 'the Sheriff will be the hero of the story'. Whilst it's good that this game is different, for me it still feels like we're lacking a tight focus on what the story will generally be like, so my vote of three was definately a 'I'm interested but lacking definate focus' .. well, see where that got me! It's good that all the bids got in quickly though, looks like we still have a good amount of interest in the story.

I've never had high bids in my Uni games. Three is a lot of coins to bid for a scene in my experience. Also if anyone wants in intro new tenets on their turn to help focus things, that is certainly allowed. My interest is not flagging in the slightest and I think sometimes the asynch medium can give the impression of disinterest when that isn't really the case. It's harder to get a feel for everyone's groove through text, so if everyone would pep thier reponses a bit, even if they feel lame to type, that would help.
But I'm totally here.

Hey, guys. I think I'm going to have to go on "not playing" status for a while -- I'm not getting here regularly to check on things, and I don't want to be bogging the rest of you down. Sorry.
-- TravisCasey - 07 Nov 2006 - 11:53
Sorry I've been out of it for so long... I've been pretty busy. I'll try to stay on top of things.
In the meantime, here's my bid for the next scene
6 coins

Glad to see you back Sean! Here's my bid for the next scene
2 coins
-- DaveMG - 08 Nov 2006 - 00:21
And then there were three. Here's my bid; no reason to hide it, so I'll post and then reveal y'all's bids, too.
Mine: 5
-- JohnHalsey - 08 Nov 2006 - 12:32
Well, Sean beat me by one! Lead us on, Sean!
-- JohnHalsey - 08 Nov 2006 - 12:33
Um, point of order there John, I didn't bid. No biggie since Sean put out more coins than I am capable of bidding. Still...
-- TrevisMartin - 08 Nov 2006 - 13:31
o_O . . . I'm really sorry about that. People leaving and coming back... I got my numbers confused. D'oh! >.<
